Our client is looking for an experienced User Experience Researcher

● Bilingual Chinese (Mandarin) and English language fluency a huge plus ● Flexibility to work in the San Francisco or San Jose office ● Min of 2-4+ years of experience ● Excellent written and verbal language skills in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English in order to be able to conduct research and communicate customer insights effectively ● Mastery of both formal, informal, qual and quant research techniques and when to use and combine them, including remote, lab, and field studies, benchmarking, heuristics, surveys, etc ● Ability to develop creative approaches to researching complex user experience problems and convey ideas in a tangible form ● Knowledge of design methods and tools for delivering research across devices and markets ● Knowledge of user-centered design principles, UX standards and fundamental user behaviors, especially as they relate to Chinese e-commerce. ● Able to help a distributed, cross-functional team immerse in and understand the needs and experiences of Chinese consumers ● Knowledge of the Chinese e-commerce landscape and experience working in mainland China ● Advanced Degree or training in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Product Design, or related field ● Ability to travel to China to conduct in-field research RESPONSIBILITIES ● Propose research approaches that address broad user and business goals ● Help the team align against a common set of business and user needs. Iterate to ensure initiatives are delivering against set goals ● Design, plan and conduct multi-screen user research from generative research to design, launch and measurement of product performance to inform the definition and development of our Marketplace's products ● Employ methods such as: field studies, competitive evaluations, usability studies, RITE studies, surveys, diary studies, and other relevant approaches, with particular emphasis on remote and iterative studies ● Build strong relationships with Designers, Product Managers, Marketing, Analytics and Engineers to deliver impact and actionable on our global products ● Synthesize research findings from other data sources (including market research, site analytics and secondary research) into meaningful recommendations and actionable results ● Drive design/research schedules with partners and balance the need to complete projects on time with delivering high quality user-experience design. Effectively and efficiently modify plans based on priorities, changes and constraints to quickly align against goals ● Identify issues and drive improvements across the user experience to achieve high quality of user experiences ● Communicate clear, detailed and thorough user experience plans to the business and the product team. Share knowledge with other teams to enable a consistent and seamless user experience. Drive communication in which everyone involved understands rationales for decisions
